Lead with Heart & Horses: Presence & Energy with Horses: Episode Three
Summary
In Episode Three of the Lead with Heart & Horses Podcast, Guliz and I discuss her work with presence and horses, and how her mastery of a way of being in the present moment, developed over a lifetime of being with horses, and has led to her current teachings on Presence with Horses. In this episode, join us as we talk about the Presence of being with horses, and how the Art of Presence with Horses, although challenging to put words to, is a very physical and spiritual way of being, that ushers in true safety, grounded spirituality and the magic of the present moment, with horses guiding us to greater authentic presence.
Horses and a Heart-Centered Connection
In the beginning of this episode, Guliz shares her background with horses, including her Tartar genetic heritage and early experiences riding, emphasizing how horses have been a constant presence in her life. She discusses her approach that is reviewed in detail in her Program on Equine-Facilitated Applied Modality training; a training that focuses on allowing natural connections between people and horses without the layers of human interference that take us out of the truth of the present moment.
Guliz explains how horses can teach us presence and help shift our awareness from the head to the heart, citing Edgar Cayce's prophecy about a time when humanity will need to return to horses, and how horses will bring humanity back into our heart space.
Edgar Cayce’s Horse Prophecy
About one hundred years ago, Edgar Cayce, while in a deep state of consciousness, predicted that a time would come when “man will need to return to the horse to find his own soul.” He predicted a phenomenon that is now occurring - across the world, horses are reawakening something ancient in us on a profound level of awareness — not as transportation, not for riding, but as guides, master teachers, mirrors of our authentic truth, and living bridges to a sense of soul that has been lost and forgotten.
Edgar Cayce spoke to how there would come a time when humanity would need to return to the horses to remember who we really are; that horses hold an energetic key, a frequency that was forgotten, when we chose machines over living beings, and that before the great planetary transformation, horses would show us the way home, not to a physical place, but to a home that is a state of consciousness.
Now, horses are emerging as teachers, as mirrors, as bridges to dimensions of the human experience, that technology has never been able to reach. Edgar saw this, and how disconnected humanity would become from nature, so lost in our own creations and so suffocated by our own delusions of control, that we would need help remembering what it means, to be truly alive, and he saw that horses, beings that never lost their connection with the earth, the present moment, the natural frequency of life, would be the perfect guides for this return.
He also saw that this return to the horses would not be merely symbolic, it would be literal, physical, energetic. He predicted that there would be a shift in the way that we interact with horses; that new scientific discoveries would confirm abilities that had always been there in the horse.
In his 1934 transmissions, Edgar described horses as guiding humans back to their own soul, and horses as Guardians of an Ancient Frequency, beings that maintained a connection with the earth, when humanity lost its connection when we chose the path of the machine. He predicted that there would be, between the 20th and 21st centuries, a reawakening of the sacred bond between human and horse, and that this reawakening would not be nostalgic or romantic but it would be necessary, it would be a matter of spiritual survival.
He predicted that people would seek horses, not to ride them, but to learn from them, that horses would teach humans something that they had forgotten - how to be truly present, how to feel without thinking, how to exist in harmony with the moment instead of constantly fighting against it.
Edgar also said that scientists would prove that horses have profound healing abilities, that they can detect and transform human emotional energy, and that they function as natural regulators of the human nervous system.
He explained that horses carry the memory of freedom, that they were never completely tamed in spirit, even when tamed in body - that this tension between wild nature and coexistence with humans made them the perfect bridges, beings that can move between the natural and the human worlds without losing their essence.
He said that when humanity would be on the brink of collapse, not physical collapse, but emotional and spiritual collapse, that then horses would appear as beacons in the desert, that they would guide lost people back to themselves, that horses would show the way, when all other references failed.
He said that we would reach a point where we didn’t even understand what was missing, and we would feel a deep emptiness, and that horses, without speaking a word, without offering advice or theories, would simply be there for us . . . present, feeling, reflecting back to us what we had forgotten, and what it means to be whole.
He then spoke to how this reconnection with horses would be only the beginning, that this would herald in a time when humanity would return into a proper relationship with all of nature. He said that horses would be the first teachers, but not the only ones, that once we learned their lessons - Presence, Feeling, Connection - we would be ready to remember our true place on this planet, not as dominators, not as invaders, but as conscious participants in a web of life, far greater than our small individual existences.
Present Moment Awareness with Horses
Guliz discusses the concept of present moment awareness and its application in working with horses. We explore how horses, like animals, can sense human projections and emotions, and how this awareness can lead to safety and connection when we work consciously with the knowledge of what exists in the present moment. Guliz shares an example of a student's experience with a horse, highlighting the importance of being present and prepared for unexpected situations. We also touch on the idea that we have the ability to influence our own health and experiences through our thoughts and beliefs, drawing parallels to how horses and animals respond to our human energy and intentions.
Presence in Healing and Communication
Guliz discusses the simplicity and power of presence in healing and communication, drawing from her experience with equine bodywork and animal communication. She emphasizes that true healing and understanding come from within, often facilitated by being present and attuned to one's own inner wisdom and energy. I explore the neuroscience connected to this process, highlighting how the heart’s sensing is transformed into imagery in the thalamus and then into language in the prefrontal cortex, and how, often, when the prefrontal cortex layers so complex in humans get involved, then the complexity can lead us away from the present moment, and so weaken us. We both speak to the importance of embodying what we teach. We also speak to the power and potential of virtual sessions to facilitate energetic connections and learning.
Presence and Energy in Guiding
We discuss the importance of presence and energy in guiding horses and working with people. We explore how being present involves listening, responding to nonverbal cues, and trusting the moment rather than following rigid, prescribed, and manualized pre-arranged scripts. Guliz shares personal experiences of practicing presence and a specific practice of imagining emitting light in various situations, including with horses and also, in crowded city environments, partly to allow us to not be in fear. We also discuss scientific evidence supporting the concept of emitting light, with biophotons emitted more powerfully when relaxed and present, and the light field being more weak when stressed.
Horse Spirituality and Transformation
We discuss the spiritual significance of horses, including in relation to a prophecy from Peru, about bringing us into awareness of our light bodies, and becoming Homo Luminous, a new evolution of the human being. We explore how working with horses can be a grounded and present-minded experience, emphasizing the importance of being mindful of one's intentions and energies.
Guliz shares various ways people can access her work, including the tarot decks that she is currently producing, a variety of workshops, her EFAM Program, and her equine sessions and workshops in British Columbia, Canada, and in Los Angeles. She also speaks to her offerings of virtual sessions with her horses, from her wild and remote off-grid property in the middle of the Caribou, near a place called the Energetic Centre of the World. We also discuss the profound transformative power of Guliz's wild, rugged, raw, beautiful property, located near an energetic vortex, and its impact on those who visit.
“We all have this ability, if we are given the chance, to be in presence, and not be told how to do it, what to do, what to be . . . if you were to come to my place, and be in this place, in this raw, rugged, beauty, . . . I can see you from where I am, I will make sure you are safe, but I will allow you to have pure space, without any human interference, just to be you and them (the horses).” - Guliz Ünlü
